Capstone Recap

my presentation went very well.
i feel that the presentation itself was very over exaggerated
the process itself to get to the presentation was really long and tedious, but now looking back at it, it was not as bad at it seemed. 

Breif Proposal Presentation to Class

My theme is substance abuse
For my props i will have my  PowerPoint, poster, website, and a model for my end product, along with a board that highlights important parts of my project
My timeline, i plan to be done with everything by Friday March 30th, 2012, and then rehearse my presentation.

Doing my website was an extremely long and tedious process. I started my website of in Dreamweaver, but i could not accomplish my goal well in dream weaver. I moved on to do my website in this website called wix. I completed my goal there and am very proud of it. I after i have completed my essay for my senior project i will go and edit in all the other information.

Website Prototype

Along with the home page, research, my future essay, page with links such as video, and other supporting links i will have other pages too.
-one of my pages will be a diagram of my end product, and it will also describe what my end product does.
-another one of my pages will be what my plans and hopes for the future are.

Thinking Ahead-Presentation

Along with all the stuff that we are going to be using in our presentation i will also be showing a prototype of my end product.

Some other stuff that i am going to be using for my presentation will be a power point, that i will incorporate into my presentation.

I am going to try and talk to them face to face, try not to read of the slides or the poster board, and i will also try to put my personality into my presentation, so that i do not sound like a robot.

Poster first draft

i put a tunnel in the background the i applied a filter, then i typed up what i wanted to say then i positioned.

WIKI BLACKOUT

I think the blackout is very interesting, In a way it brought attention to the issue. I feel like i cant choose a side on the bills, I feel like there should be compromise, on both sides, so that wikipedia dosen't get shutdown, and the corporations wont loose their money.

I love this poster because it grabbed my attention, is fun and colorful, its organized and gets the point across.

PSA Presentation

For PSA presentation, I had my friends help me out with the acting and filming. For the editing part i used windows live movie maker, to edit my video. I first trimmed, fast forward and adjusted all the video. Afterwards i used this online media editing software, called Avairy to edit my song to go with the video. The i had to adjust the volume of the music so that it did not overpower the video.

I found this article very interesting. I learned some very interesting stuff, for example, how putting music isn't necessary, and how putting music will not make something boring interesting. I also learned that your message should be clear. I also learned you do not need to be creative to do a PSA, as long as you know how to communicate with people you can do a PSA. Overall, this article was very interesting and informative, and cleared up questions in my head. 

PSA Intent

 My PSA will have a serious sound to it. It will most likely have video, with statistics, My PSA will probably tell a story. It will most likely have a main person tell stats, and will have some people act it out, followed by the message, and solution for my topic. IT will have some background music to it to match the mood of the PSA.

Preliminary Identification of a Presentation Capstone Element

1. I am planning on my making a prototype for my end product, that will basically show what the box will consist of and what it will look like.

2. My poster will be like a the poster we used in science fair so it will stand by itself.

3. Yes will be making a 3D prototype so that people can see what i have visioned. 

4. My outfit will have a professional look.

5. The important points will be the symptoms, treatments, affects, and what my plan is.

6. Most likely I will present a brochure.

7. I will include the presentation of a website.

Look and Feel Issues

A. My presentation overall will have a serious look to it.

B. My presentation will start of with a very dark and serious kind of like a gloomy look it. The towards the end it will have a light but still serious look to it, so it can represent that even thought we are in a dark spot now there is still hope, light at the end of tunnel type thing.

C. They will be very informative, factual, and show the overall view of my project

D.  I will make my point understood through my presentation.

E. My presentation will be serious, straight forward, easy to understand, with pictures in there for the use of example.

Thinking Ahead on PSA

- This PSA is short and straight to the point. This PSA talks about the effects of peer pressure on a person to do the wrong thing. They showed this by repeating the phrase "One of the guys".

- This PSA is also short and straight to the point. This PSA shows how young substance abuse can start, this video also shows the effects of peer pressure by repeating the phrase "They said". This video showed the effect of substance abuse on an abusers family as well.

Capstone Project Statement of Intent:

1.  The goal of my project is through education, I would like people to learn the signs and symptoms of substance abuse, and ways to treat an abuser and what they can do to help them.

2. Substance Abuse is one of the main issues in society today. Not only does it affect a single person or family. It affects society as an whole. Substance Abuse can be traced back to crime rates, accidental deaths, any form of abuse such as child abuse. By lowering substance abuse we are lowering crime, death, and abusive relationship rates, and much much more.

3. I am planning on majoring in psychology. Psychologically substances have a big affect in a person. When I get my degree I want to work with children who have been around abusers or who are abusers themselves. I personally believe that influence starts at an extremely young age. I we target the young people we can stop future abusers from being bron.

4. The end product of my project is a device. The device is a box and have of it will be a container and the other half a screen. A person at home who suspects a loved one of being an abuser, and knows the signs of a substance abuser, can take take a hair follicle of the person and they can put it in to the container of the box and put the hair follicle in there and within seconds it will tell the person whether or not the person is under the influence, and if they are what substances they are abusing. With this device family member's can get their loved ones the help they need, before they risk their lives any further or that of someone else.

5.  My project will help the people and the economy and the environment. MY project will provide a cleaner and safer environment for the people. My project will also help the economy, because a lot of the money that the government uses is in the police force, so if we have lower amount of abusers there will be less crime, and that money can be used for different purposes such for schools and hospitals.
